Delta Model 43-455 Heavy-Duty Wood Shaper includes a 5HP single phase,
230V, TEFC motor with full voltage motor starter (GPE), controls, motor
pulley, Poly V-belt drive, two 10" cast-iron extension wings, micro-adjust
fence and guard assembly, 1 1/4" spindle, table inserts, starting pin, 2-speed
spindle pulley, wrenches and instruction manual.
The Delta Difference
The spindle, housing, motor, raising and lowering mechanism are a single
self-contained unit, securely assembled to the underside of the table for
absolute 90° spindle-to-table alignment.
The rugged drive spindle assembly and permanently lubricated ball bearings
are preloaded to prevent distortion at high speeds which assures accurate,
chatter-free shaping.
Massive 30" X 27" table (with standard cast-iron extension wings)
provides extra support for shaping large work. Also, a precision ground
face and ribbed under-table-construction prevents warping.
Precision milled 3/8" X 3/4" T-slot, miter slot accommodate miter
gage, sliding miter jig and other accessories for holding work piece.
Conveniently-grouped controls are at the front of the machine within easy
reach of the operator from his normal working position.
Deep-tapered spindle design allows for easy changing of accessory spindles
from 1/2" to 1 1/4" to permit use of a wide variety of shaper cutters. Table
opening size can be varied, as needed, by removing special table insert
rings.
Poly V-Drive System transmits more efficient torque to the spindle.

automatic brake that stops cutter in seconds. Belt
tension lever lets operator change spindle quickly and
easily.
Work hold-downs help secure workpiece to table and
fence to protect operator from chips and debris.
Drop-in spindles (3/4" or 1 1/4" diameter) are
easily mounted or removed, using a locking nut and
special wrench supplied with the machine. Three
removable steel table insert rings are supplied to
accommodate various cutter diameters.
Up-front controls include a large emergency stop
button, forward/reverse switch for changing spindle
rotation, start/stop switch and spindle lock for
removing or replacing cutter.
Heavy cast-iron table measuring 31 3/4" X 39 5/8"
for supporting large workpieces.
Extruded aluminum fence mounted on heavy cast
iron assembly is fully adjustable. Two ports,
