yes it's expensive and it doesn't come with a battery..but it's quickly become the most frequently used tool in my workshop. Having horses and constantly doing small construction and tear down projects it's become a must-have. Battery life is good, charging is very fast. I am not a pro builder so cannot speak to its performance nonstop for 8 hours, but for home projects it's wonderful. I've dropped it a bunch and it never falters. I love the light on it and how accurate it cuts as well as how it can cut curves too. I am a woman so didn't want something that weighed 20 lbs either and it's just right for me.
