This unit generates three green beams (say that three times fast!) projected in 360°, one horizontal and two vertical. The laser offers 

dual power technology, which simply means it can be powered by a rechargeable 12-volt lithium-ion battery or with four AA alkaline batteries. The laser has a working range of up to 200 feet in diameter. With pulse mode engaged, the range extends up to 330 feet (with the optional LR8 receiver). All enclosed in a robust casing to withstand drops, shocks, rainy weather, and dusty jobsites. After testing out this laser in our studio, I can tell you this: Bosch spent most of their R&D in two main features. The VisiMax Line Technology and the Bosch Leveling Remote App.                                                                                                                                                            VisiMax is a Bosch exclusive technology that concentrates in maximizing brightness, energy efficiency, and long-term reliability. Laser diodes have improved throughout the years allowing Bosch to produce bright, clean, and sharp lines, especially the green beams (note: not to be confused with green beans). They are noticeably less grainy and can be seen at further distances. VisiMax proactively monitors the power consumption and temperature. This means that it optimizes the battery and extends the longevity of the laser by preventing overheating. Nice!!!

Bosch Leveling Remote App is another exclusive. It’s a free app that can be downloaded from Google’s Play Store or Apple’s App Store, and I highly recommend downloading it if you want to take full advantage of this product. It’s a mobile solution for users to control their Bosch laser systems and monitor the laser status via Bluetooth. You can check unit status and control functions remotely like turning the laser ON/OFF, choose laser line operating modes, adjust laser line visibility, and view/manage calibration (AKA CAL Guard). It enables the tool to be “smart” and adapt to the work environment to maximize usage.                                                                                                                                                              Having a laser level is a must have. Even if it's not this particular Bosch system, ANY laser level is a great addition to your arsenal of tools.
